Position Summary:
We are seeking a Junior Data Monitoring Analyst to support our Virtual Data Infrastructure (VDI) environment. In this role, you will be responsible for proactively monitoring data workflows, ensuring high-quality data across pipelines, and supporting production systems. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, a fast learner, and passionate about solving data issues before they impact downstream systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Proactively monitor data pipelines and system performance within the VDI environment
• Write and execute SQL queries to validate and troubleshoot data across multiple sources
• Build and maintain data transformation models using DBT
• Ensure data quality and integrity using automated checks and anomaly detection methods
• Provide day-to-day production support, identifying and resolving data issues quickly
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and priorities
• Document monitoring processes, known issues, resolutions, and recurring patterns
• Continuously learn and adopt new tools and practices to improve monitoring and support capabilities
Required Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in a data operations, data monitoring, or analytics support role
• Proficiency in SQL for data validation and troubleshooting
• Hands-on experience with DBT and Snowflake
• Familiarity with data quality concepts and best practices
• Strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and ability to act proactively
• Fast learner with a growth mindset and interest in evolving tools and systems
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced production environment
Preferred Skills:
• Experience working in or supporting a VDI (Virtual Data Infrastructure) environment
• Exposure to data observability or monitoring tools (e.g., Monte Carlo, Datafold, Airflow)
• Basic scripting skills (e.g., Python, Shell)
• Experience working in an Agile or DevOps environment
